AMD now wants to take on Nvidia in the data centeredit

There’s no doubt that AMD’s graphics business has kept the company afloat when its CPU business stunk. More than once I saw quarterly numbers that showed all the profitability was coming from the GPU side of the market. The split between it and Nvidia is about 2:1, according to Steam analytics. Nvidia just has tremendous momentum and hasn’t lost it. And it allowed the company to branch out into artificial intelligence (AI) so thoroughly that gaming has almost become secondary to the firm. Not that they are leaving gamers hanging; they just aren’t the top priority any more.

AMD unveils Radeon Instinct MI60, its first-ever 7nm GPUedit

AMD announced its first-ever 7nm server CPU based on the newest Zen 2 architecture and along with this the company also unveiled the GPU but it isn’t meant for the gaming sector as of now, at least. The name of this GPU is Radeon Instinct MI60 and there’s one more which got announced during the event, it’s MI50 graphics card based on 14nm process.

Xiaomi 13.3-inch Mi Notebook Air unveiled with 3,999 Yuan (~$579) pricingedit

Apart from launching the 15.6-inch Mi Notebook Lite, Xiaomi had also unveiled the 13.3-inch Mi Notebook Air in China yesterday. AS per a report by Fast Company, Apple will launch its first 5G-supported iPhone in 2020. The report cites a source familiar with Apple’s plans, adding that the company will use Intel’s 8161 5G modem chip in its 2020 iPhones. The road to launching the first 5G iPhone will not be easy as the report adds that Apple is currently not happy with Intel. As an alternative – Plan B – option, Apple is in talks with MediaTek to supply 5G modems if Intel fails to deliver.
