Intel releases 4Q and full-year 2018 resultsedit
Intel Corporation reported its 4Q revenue as USD 18.7 billion, up 9 percent year-over-year (YoY); and full-year revenue set a record of USD 70.8 billion, up 13 percent YoY. The company delivered outstanding 4Q earnings per share of USD 1.12 (USD 1.28 on a non-GAAP basis) and achieved record full-year operating income, net income and EPS. In 2018, Intel generated USD 29.4 billion cash from operations; USD 14.3 billion of free cash flow and returned nearly USD 16.3 billion to shareholders.

Researchers discover a new ‘Spoiler’ flaw in Intel CPU’sedit
Security researchers at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and the University of Lübeck have published a paper outlining a vulnerability on Intel processors. The vulnerability only affects Intel chips and not AMD or ARM chips. The vulnerability affects Intel chips all the way back to the first generation of Core CPUs. According to the researchers, the potential attack vector is similar to Spectre, but not subject to the same mitigations. Just to be clear, Spectre and Spoiler are 2 different attacks.
