AMD turns 50, launches Ryzen 7 Gold Edition with free games (PROACTIVE)edit
To celebrate its 50th anniversary, AMD has launched the AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Gold Edition. The processor comes signed by Lisa Su, the Chief Executive Officer of AMD. Buyers of the Gold Edition will also receive two free games, a Lisa Su signature sticker, and an AMD 50th anniversary t-shirt. According to the popular American chip maker, the entire celebration package is available only for a limited time through participating retailers.

The AMD Radeon VII launch at CES this year was met with a very luke-warm reception from gamers. The 7nm graphics card was launched for an asking price of $700 which put it right against the RTX 2080 from Nvidia. When the benchmarks revealed that the latter was slightly faster and came with the RTX exclusive features like Ray Tracing and DLSS, gamers had little reason to opt for AMD’s 7nm flagship. Furthermore, the supply shortages coupled with overpriced units at retail didn’t really help.

IIT-M campus placements touch all-time high in 2018-19edit
The Indian Institute of Technology-Madras (IIT-M) has witnessed another successful year in campus placements, which broke new grounds during 2018-19. As many as 964 students got placed during the campus recruitment for the academic year 2018-19,including 97 students who got pre-placement offers (PPOs). The total number of students registered for placements was around 1,300. This figure of 964 marks an increase of more than 15% compared with the preceding year when 834 students got placed, including PPOs.
