Sapphire Reps Leak Juicy Details on AMD Radeon Naviedit
A Sapphire product manager and PR director, speaking to the Chinese press spilled the beans on AMD’s upcoming Radeon Navi graphics card lineup. It looks like with Navi, AMD is targeting the meat of the serious gamer market, at two specific price points, USD $399 with a “Pro” (cut-down) product, and $499 with an “XT” (fully-fledged) product. AMD has two NVIDIA products in its crosshairs, the GeForce RTX 2070, and the RTX 2060.

AMD Takes a Bigger Revenue Hit than Microsoft from Huawei Ban: Goldman Sachsedit
The trade ban imposed on Chinese tech giant Huawei by the U.S. Department of Commerce, and ratified through an Executive Order by President Donald Trump, is cutting both ways. Not only are U.S. entities banned from importing products and services from Huawei, but also engaging in trade with them (i.e. selling to them). U.S. tech firms stare at a $11 billion revenue loss by early estimates. Wall Street firm Goldman Sachs compiled a list of companies impacted by the ban, and the extent of their revenue loss. It turns out that AMD isn’t a small player, and in fact, stands to lose more revenue in absolute terms than even Microsoft.

Support for AMD Ryzen 3000 “Matisse” CPUs and AMD Navi GPUs added in AIDA64edit
AIDA64, the popular benchmarking tool got updated today with preliminary support for AMD’s 7nm Zen2 based Matisse processors (Ryzen 3000) as well as the Navi GPUs along with small tweaks. The new update ver. 6.00.5100 (May 21, 2019) also enables AVX2 and FMA accelerated 64-bit benchmarks for AMD Zen 2 Matisse processors.

Microarchitectural Data Sampling (MDS) vulnerabilities have emerged as the latest flaw in Intel chips, following the infamous Spectre and Meltdown attacks. The chipmaker immediately resolved the MDS attacks that were able to extract data from the latest Intel CPUs through a series of patches.

AMD Navi Graphics Card to be Price at $399 and $499: Sapphire PR Manageredit
It seems like AMD’s upcoming Navi graphics cards will follow a price trend similar to the Radeon VII. According to a Sapphire PR Manager, there will be two Navi SKUs, one priced at $399 to counter the similarly priced GeForce RTX 2060 while the other will cost $499 and will go up against the RTX 2070. As reported earlier, in the high-end space, AMD’s offerings will be limited to the Radeon VII.

Sony Just Laid Out Everything There Is to Know About the PS5edit
Even though the upcoming console will have similarities with the PS4, it will be powered by an all-new CPU and GPU. In an interview with Wired, lead system architect Mark Cerny said it will use a third-gen AMD Ryzen CPU with eight cores and a custom GPU built on AMD’s Radeon Navi family. The GPU will support an advanced rendering technique called ray tracing, which is limited to high-end gaming PCs at the moment, and will provide the console with immersive 3D audio.

Intel, Qualcomm and Broadcomm cut deals off with Huawei under the US banedit
Seems like Huawei is having really hard days. The week started with the US government banning American suppliers from doing business with the Chinese smartphone brand. Following the US government’s Huawei ban, technology giant Google abruptly cancelling off the brand’s Android license and halting its access to its services. Now, a report has emerged on Bloomberg that says that Intel, Qualcomm and Bradcomm are cutting off their dealings with Huawei too and this will be effective immediately. We should mention that these three are the world’s leading chip suppliers.
