AMD: 3rd Gen Ryzen CPUs Have 15% Higher IPC; MSI Says 13%edit

AMD announced the 7nm Ryzen 3000 CPUs on 27th May, claiming an IPC gain of 15% over the older Zen+ architecture at a lower TDP thanks to the efficient new process. However, today during MSI’s internal presentation, the slides claimed an IPC boost of 13%. So who is in the right? The likely case is that AMD has the correct figures, and MSI’s slides are either outdated or just the result of an error or miscommunication. Still, this is rather lousy for such a major announcement.

AMD announced its new RDNA GPU architecture at Computex, and the same is expected to power the next-gen Xbox and PS consoles, as well as the Navi GPUs, slated for a launch in July (7th most likely). The RDNA macro-architecture is special for many reasons, but the crux of it is that it has been specifically designed for gamers. This also means that AMD won’t abandon the GCN architecture, and the two will keep on evolving side-by-side.

Noctua Showcases Next Generation of D-type Coolers, Chromax Coolers and More at Computex 2019edit

The company plans to release two versions, one with a single fan and of course a dual fan thus offering both a high compatibility and a maximum performance model. The bundled fan will be Noctua’s proven NF-A15 PWM model which when paired with the new redesign results in a cooler capable of dissipating over 400-watts on the TR4 socket. Speaking of sockets, it will support all current offerings including AMD, LGA20xx, LGA115x with a separate model for socket TR4. It has a current ETA of Q1 2020 and will come bundled with Noctua’s NT-H2 thermal compound.
