Rumored AMD X590 chipset hints at more premium motherboardsedit

We might end up seeing a more premium X590 chipset, aimed at enthusiasts and overclockers. AMD’s X570 chipset for Ryzen 3rd Generation processors has already been announced, boasting PCIe 4.0 support, and bringing along some pretty expensive motherboards like the MSI X570 Godlike. But now, new premium X590 motherboards have been spotted by German site Computer Base.

These past weeks we’ve been witnessing a ****-storm of leaked benchmarks. AMD Ryzen 9 3950X, Intel 10nm Ice Lake, Comet Lake and so on. This time we’ve got the Geekbench OpenCL score of a budget chip, the AMD Ryzen 5 3400G (Picasso). Not to be mistaken with the recently released Zen 2 based Ryzen 3000 processors, these APUs leverage the 12nm Zen+ architecture and paired with a Vega GPU make for a decent AIO system.

AMD B550 and A520 Lack PCIe Gen 4 Capabilities?edit

ast Friday, we reported ASMedia working on new-generation socket AM4 motherboard chipsets that succeed the AMD B450 and A320, which could hopefully offer significantly cheaper alternatives to boards based on the feature-rich AMD X570 chipset. The DigiTimes story we cited was updated to clarify that the chipset only supports PCI-Express gen 3.0, and not the newer PCI-Express gen 4.0. There are two distinct ways of interpreting this information.

Broadcom’s USD 2 billion warning rattles global chip sectoredit

Intel Turns to Samsung in Order to Resolve CPU Shortage on the 14 nm Processedit

ntel has seemingly partnered with Samsung, one of the largest manufacturers of Integrated Circuits, in order to help reduce the CPU shortage currently affecting the PC market. Intel late-May made its first major disclosure of the per-core CPU performance gains achieved with its “Ice Lake” processor that packs “Sunny Cove” CPU cores. Averaged across a spectrum of benchmarks, Intel claims a best-case scenario IPC (instructions per clock) uplift of a massive 40 percent over “Skylake,” and a mean uplift of 18 percent.

Intel Corp. is considering moving part of its global supply chain away from China amid that country’s trade war with the US, Chief Executive Officer Bob Swan said Sunday. Intel doesn’t believe tariffs are an “effective way to drive global trade,” Swan said, and is encouraging the governments to engage in constructive dialogue — even as Intel tries to mitigate the impact of the dispute.

This uptick has been fuelled by recruitment activity in the IT-software sector, BPO and education according to the Naukri JobSpeak report.
