AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT Review: As Fast as the RTX 2070 Super, As Cheap as the 2060 Super (Proactive)edit

AMD’s Navi cards finally hit the market last week. Although most media outlets gave priority to the Ryzen 3000 lineup, the RX 5700 GPUs still pack quite a punch and that too without costing a leg or two. We witnessed one of the biggest price-wars of the graphics card market earlier this month, with NVIDIA releasing the Super cards to render the older RTX cards and the RX 5700 lineup (at the initial prices) obsolete.

AMD Ryzen 3000 Motherboard Purchase Guide: Budget, Mid-Range and High-Endedit

With the launch of the new Zen 2 processors, the Navi cards and the RTX Super series, you might be in the market to build a new computer. While the choices for CPUs and GPUs are relatively easy, the number of options in the motherboard section can be overwhelming, especially for inexperienced builders. But don’t worry, with this article, we’ve got you covered.

AMD Ryzen 3000 CPU Overclocking Tipsedit

It’s already been well established that AMD’s Ryzen CPUs love high frequency, low latency RAM modules. That’s because the speed of the system memory being used directly affects the speed of Infinity Fabric (IF), AMD’s high-speed interconnect between CPU core clusters, chiplets, GPU cores (in case of APUs) and memory.

AMD Radeon RX 5700XT and 5700 Should Get a 10% Performance Boost via Driver Updateedit

The RX 5700XT and RX 5700 certainly have no shortage of power on tap: Our reviewshowed them frequently matching and even exceeding the RTX 2070 Super and RTX 2060 Super respectively, at lower price-points. However, there were a few anomalous results—both AMD parts had unusually low minimum framerates in some titles, and we saw poorer-than-expected performance in some AMD-friendly titles.

AMD RYZEN 3000 CAUSES BOOT PROBLEMS FOR A FEW LINUX DISTROS, AND ISSUES WITH DESTINY 2edit

AMD launched its latest Ryzen 3000 series of CPUs just last week which are the first 3rd-generation Ryzen chips to be based on 7nm technology. However, there seems to be some problems with the CPUs already. Some Linux users noticed that there’s an issue with some newer distros which are based on 5.0 or higher that causes the OS to be not able to boot up.

Will AMD Enable PCIe 4.0 On Older Boards?edit

ASUS sparked a fire in the motherboard market this week by listing its older X470 motherboards which are compatible with PCIe 4.0. This came in contrary to the initial claims made by AMD over the compatibility of PCIe 4.0 with X470/370 boards.

Intel Core i9-9900KS Spotted: Slower than AMD Ryzen 9 3900X and the Core i9-9900Kedit

Just a day before Computex, Intel announced yet another 9th Gen chip based on the Coffee Lake refresh, the Core i9-9900KS. Basically a higher binned 9900K, the KS variant has all the eight cores running at 5GHz, all the time. This means that we’re looking at a better IHS (soldered?), higher TDP and a chip that’ll run hot without liquid cooling. Furthermore, as the single-core boost is unchanged, the SC or ST performance should be unaffected over the 9900K, but we *should* see some gains in multi-threaded workloads.

PCIe 4.0 officially coming to selected X470 and B450 boards from Asusedit

One of the talking points about AMD’s 3000 series Ryzen processors pertained to the simultaneous launch of (relatively) expensive and fancy X570 chipset AM4 motherboards. While the new Ryzen CPUs by themselves still continue to offer excellent value for money, the accompanying X570 chipset based motherboards are significantly more expensive than their previous-gen counterparts. As a result, a lot of budget-oriented shoppers pairing the new 3rd gen Ryzen with previous–gen chipsets would have missed out on certain forward-looking features, most notably

Leak suggests Intel 10-core Comet Lake CPU could beat AMD Ryzen 9 3900Xedit

Intel has been losing ground to AMD for some time now in the processor world, and more so with the release of the Ryzen 3000 series of CPUs, which are incredibly competitive on all fronts – but Intel is prepping a beast of a Comet Lake response to this fresh threat, if the latest from the rumor mill is anything to go by.
