AMD Hits All-time High CPU Sales Figuresedit

AMD’s bet on Ryzen just keeps paying off. Today, new data seems to indicate that Ryzen sales haven’t peaked yet. Instead, they’ve hit an all-time high. Ingebor, a member of the official AMD sub reddit showed figures from Mind Factory’s sales indicating that AMD CPU sales have hit an all-time high. This is huge news and it’s a complete turnabout from the position team Red was in a couple of years ago. It’s also interesting because it comes in the wake of continued supply issues with high-end Ryzen.

Chipmaker AMD to host GameOn (Proactive)edit

AMD to Unveil Radeon RX 5500 on October 7edit

It turns out that the Radeon RX 5500 is arriving a lot sooner than expected, with VideoCardz reporting an October 7th product launch for the card. It’s also being reported that the SKU will launch as the Radeon RX 5500 XT, with board partner GIGABYTE being ready with half a dozen custom-design cards, all of which with 8 GB of memory. In a separate report, VideoCardz also confirmed that the RX 5500 series will be based on the latest “Navi” family of GPUs that use the company’s latest RDNA architecture, and will be built on the 7 nm silicon fabrication process.

AMD announces Ryzen PRO 3000 series, and Ryzen and Radeon Game Bundles (Proactive)edit

AMD made a bunch of announcements related to its Ryzen and Radeon related product lineup. The Ryzen Pro 3000 series desktop processor lineup was announced globally that included the AMD Athlon Pro processors with Vega graphics for enterprise applications. It extended support for Radeon Image Sharpening (RIS) on Vega cards and also revealed several game bundles for consumers buying Ryzen and Radeon products.

AMD Announces Global Availability of AMD Ryzen PRO 3000 Series Desktop Processor Lineup (Proactive)edit

AMD has announced the global availability of its new AMD Ryzen PRO 3000 Series desktop processor lineup, along with new AMD Ryzen PRO processors with Radeon Vega Graphics and AMD Athlon PRO processors with Radeon Vega Graphics. The AMD Ryzen PRO and Athlon PRO desktop processors combine powerful performance, built-in security features and commercial-grade reliability to get the job done. Starting in Q4 2019, robust enterprise desktops from HP and Lenovo powered by AMD Ryzen PRO and Athlon PRO desktop processors are slated to be available.

Two-day gaming event (Proactive)edit

AMD will host the fourth edition of its annual gaming event – GameOn – in Hyderabad on October 12 and 13. The annual esports event, hosted by the Radeon Technology Group at AMD, is aimed at bringing leading edge gaming hardware and software developed by the team, direcdy into the hands of gamers and enthusiasts, said a release. According to a release, visitors will have access to live demonstrations of key features, Virtual Reality (VR) experience, PC, Console and Server based gaming through high performance rigs. GameOn will also have a recruitment booth where interested candidates can upload their resume by scanning the QR code displayed at the booth.

AMD Radeon RX 5500 To Compete with the NVIDIA GTX 1660, Releasing on 7th Octedit

According to VideoCardz, AMD is about to announce the mid-range RX 5500 that will compete with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660. The RX 5500 is expected to be announced on the 7th of October. The RX 5500 will run on a 128-bit bus and might feature memory of up to 8GB GDDR6. The card is expected to feature similar core counts to GTX 1660, giving it a slight edge over the GTX 1650.

AMD Ryzen 5 3500 Price listed online for purchase, dispatch starting October 5edit

AMD’s Ryzen 5 3500 six-core six-thread CPU has been listed online on MD Computers, one of India’s major PC hardware retailers. The processor has been priced at Rs. 11,199 which puts it right in competition with Intel’s i5-9400F available at Rs.11,750 (at the time of writing this). Remarkably, the 11th gen Iris Plus seems to outdo the Vega 10, and sometimes by a substantial margin. Before we get to the figures, keep in mind that the Gen11 iGPU comes with the 10th Gen Intel Ice Lake CPUs, team blue’s first 10nm offering. Although limited to the laptop market as of yet, the server parts are expected to come in 2020 but there’s still no word on the desktop versions. We expect the Comet Lake-S CPUs featuring as many as 10 cores (again based on the 14nm Skylake Core) to succeed Intel’s 9th Gen lineup.

NVIDIA Releases GeForce 436.48 Game Ready Driversedit

NVIDIA today released its latest GeForce software suite. Version 436.48 WHQL of these drivers come game-ready for the week’s biggest AAA game release, Tom Clancy’s “Ghost Recon: Breakpoint,” and “Asgard’s Wrath.” The drivers also add support for the HTC VIVE Cosmos VR headset. Among the fixes with this release are an application crash with Tom Clancy’s “The Division 2” in DirectX 12 mode, an error when trying to invoke GeForce Experience Freestyle or Ansel via hotkeys in games that use the Vulkan API, game crashes with “UBOAT,” missing objects in “Tradesmen OS3DE,” and a ghosting effect observed in Maxon Cinema 4D in with certain brushes.
