AMD to introduce next-gen RDNA based Navi GPUs in 2020edit

AMD started the GPU business in 2020 with a mess actually after the launch of Radeon RX 5600 XT. The last-minute price cut by NVIDIA forced the Red team to push a BIOS update to increase the performances, when most of the GPUs were already shipped by the board partners. However, the company eyes to launch the next-gen RDNA based Navi GPUs in 2020 as NVIDIA too are going to introduce their Ampere GPUs soon in 2020.

AMD Threadripper 3990X 70% Faster Than Xeon W-3175X According To Latest Benchmarksedit

AMD’s CES 2020 Keynote mostly comprised of the Ryzen 4000 laptops. However, the one thing that stood out in the entire show was the Threadripper 3990X. The 64-core beast got a price reveal at the event, along with subtle hints about the power it packs under the hood. With still a week to go for launch, we have finally had some more benchmarks for the upcoming processor. With the launch of the Threadripper 3990X, Intel’s dominance in the processor segment keeps on receding.

2nd Generation AMD EPYC processors in new Atos supercomputeredit

AMD recently announced that its EPYC processors have been selected by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) to accelerate its new world-leading supercomputer, based on Atos’s latest BullSequana XH2000 technology, for one of the most powerful meteorological supercomputers in the world. Once operational in 2021, the supercomputer will allow ECMWF to run its predictions at a higher resolution, of around 10km, offering reliable, advanced numerical predictions about the occurrence and intensity of extreme weather events ahead of time.

The beefed-up variant of the features up to an AMD Ryzen 7 4800HS processor, which also marks the comeback of AMD, and as per Asus, we’re not sure if we will see an Intel-powered variant later. Intel Core i9-10900K with a 5.1 GHz boost gets its first listing on 3DMarkedit

We’ve reported recently about the possibility of Intel launching the Comet Lake-S desktop CPUs as early as March this year and now, the successor to the Core i9-9900K, the purported Core i9-10900K, has made its first appearance in the 3DMark database.  It remains to be seen how well Comet Lake-S can perform compared to AMD Ryzen 3rd gen desktop offerings. Even if we were to see any tangible benefits, they will likely be overshadowed once Zen 3-based Ryzen 4th gen hits the market later this year.

Intel Corp’s legal compliance counsel joins software firm Splunkedit

Mekhla Basu, regional compliance counsel for South East Asia for Intel Corporation is joining San Francisco-headquartered software firm Splunk Inc. as its director and corporate counsel for Asia & Pacific (APAC) region.
