Nvidia’s game streaming service, GeForce Now out of beta, to rival Google Stadiaedit

The game streaming space appears to finally be heating up, with Nvidia now jumping in the ring with its GeForce Now game streaming service. The chipmaker has opened for membership its cloud-based game streaming service which will take on Google’s Stadia in North America and Europe. Much like other game streaming services, the platform uses its GeForce graphics cards to power gaming on personal computers, android phones and Shield TVs.

There are quite a few services for cloud gaming in the industry right now. And Nvidia that has been making graphics cards for PCs all these years has launched a cloud gaming solution. Called Nvidia GeForce Now, this service was in the beta phase up until today. It is now available in North America and Europe. Interested users can sign up for the service for a sum of $5 per month. Nvidia is also offering unlimited one-hour free trials that don’t require a credit card.

Intel bets on smart buildings in Israel to attract tech talentedit

Intel Corp is investing heavily in “smart buildings” in Israel that will be full of perks to keep employees happy, helping the U.S. chipmaker compete for the country’s top professionals. Intel, one of the biggest employers and exporters in Israel, said in 2019 it would invest $11 billion to build a manufacturing facility in the country, where some of its most advanced technologies have been hatched.

Acer, in a precautionary move in the wake of the spread of the coronavirus announced that an Esports tournament hosted by it called the Asia Pacific Predator League 2020, scheduled to be held from February 19th to 23rd in Manila, Philippines has been postponed “in the interest of the health and wellbeing of the tournament’s competitors, spectators and staff during this period”.

2.4 lakh jobs by 2023: Indian economy to garner $100 million through cloud computing – Here’s what Google report saysedit

Deployment of the public cloud computing system can add around USD 100 billion to the Indian economy and generate 2.4 lakh direct jobs by 2023, a report released on Wednesday said. “Public cloud deployments in India have the potential to contribute approximately USD 100 billion in GDP (gross domestic product) cumulatively from 2019 to 2023. When annualised, this is equivalent to 0.6 per cent of GDP and 15 per cent of the GDP impact of the IT industry and 25 per cent of the textile industry in India,” the Google Cloud-BCG joint report said.

India’s public cloud deployments is poised to become an $8 billion industry in 2023, says a combined report by Google Cloud and Boston Consulting Group (BCG). By 2024, Gartner predicts that these technologies will replace almost 69% of the manager’s workload. “The role of manager will see a complete overhaul in the next four years,” said Helen Poitevin, research vice-president at Gartner. “Currently, managers often need to spend time filling in forms, updating information and approving workflows. By using AI to automate these tasks, they can spend less time managing transactions and can invest more time on learning, performance management and goal setting.”
