Software codes reveal Apple’s plan to ditch Intel in future Mac devicesedit

Future Apple MacBook and iMac devices may ditch Intel processors and adopt AMD as a replacement. Although there’s no public announcement by Apple on this, several macOS Catalina codes referring to AMD processors, indirectly confirms that the plan might be underway. As reported by Macrumours, the codes mentioning AMD processors were seen from macOS 10.15.2 beta to 10.15.4 beta versions.

Apple could replace Intel processors with AMD in its future MacBook and other Mac devices according to a report. The rumours surfaced after the code for macOS Catalina 10.15.4 beta showed references to AMD’s APUs, TechRadar reported quoting a tipster. As per the @_rogame, the codes do not directly contain references to AMD but its Accelerated Processing Unit (APU), which is a combination of both CPU and GPU. Apple uses AMD graphics in select MacBook Pro, iMac, iMac Pro and Mac Pro models, but it relies on Intel processors for all the MacBook laptops and PC devices.

Xiaomi teases Redmibook 13, set to launch in India on February 11edit

Recent rumours have indicated that Xiaomi plans to introduce the Redmibook 13 in India, which made its debut alongside the Redmi K30 in China. The laptop has a 13.3-inch FHD screen and includes an 89 per cent screen-to-body ratio. The notebook is expected to be available with 10th generation Intel Core i5 and Core i7 options. The laptop also comes with 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD storage, and 2GB Nvidia MX250 graphics card. The Redmibook 13 runs on Windows 10 operating system. Expect the notebook to cost in the vicinity of Rs 45,000 for the base model.

Sony, Amazon join MWC exodus over nCoV scareedit

Sony and Amazon are the latest companies to pull out of a major European technology show due to fears over the outbreak of the new coronavirus. Sony said Monday it’s scrapping its appearance at Mobile World Congress, the world’s biggest mobile industry trade fair, in Barcelona, this month. Amazon to set up two data centres in Telangana with USD 1.6 billion investmentedit

In what is being seen as a massive investment by Amazon in Telangana, the tech giant has sought environmental clearance for the construction of two data centres at a cost of Rs 11,624 crore ($1.6 billion). The data centres are expected to come up at two locations on the outskirts of Hyderabad in Ranga Reddy district. More than 90 per cent of the investment would go towards the high-end computer and storage equipment that would be housed at these two data centres.
