Earlier this year AMD unveiled the Radeon RX 5500 XT and 5600 XT, which were targeted towards the more budget-conscious gamers. We’ve reviewed both GPUs individually recently, but now it’s time to see which one provides the better value against each other. So there you have it. As you can see from the results, the Radeon RX 5600 XT wins as expected, but that wasn’t the point of comparing the two. What matters is whether the price difference makes sense in performance and whether you’re getting a comfortable gaming experience with the Navi cards.

AMD announced that the 2nd Gen AMD EPYC processors and AMD Radeon Instinct MI25 GPUs are extending performance advantages through Microsoft Azure NVv4 virtual machines (VMs). These VMs, which are now generally available to customers in South Central U.S. and Europe West Azure regions, provide a virtual desktop experience, enabling customers to power remote visualization services and virtual desktops in the cloud to support entry-level workers, as well as graphics-intensive visualization workloads like CAD and simulations.

AMD, in an official statement, has shared that back in December last year, a hacker got access to test files related to the company’s current and future graphics products. Some of these test files or source codes have been leaked online but the company has taken strict action to take them down. It states that the hacker has additional files as well. The person who claims to have hacked the source code spoke with a publication and said that the files are related to AMD’s upcoming products, including the Arden GPU rumoured to be present in the Xbox Series X.

The Intel Core i9-10900K’s Geekbench scores threaten Ryzen 9 3900Xedit

The newer Intel CPUs might be on their way for launch but before that, the Intel Core i9-10900K has been spotted on Geekbench with some pretty healthy improvement in multi-core scores from last gen. The well-known leaker @TUM_APISAK did find a system featuring an Intel Core i9-10900K processor in an ASRock Z490M Pro4 motherboard on Geekbench 5. The rig has managed to score 1,437 points in the single-core test and 11,390 points in the multi-core test.

US-based semiconductor company AMD claimed that a hacker has obtained source files for some of its current and future GPUs, including details about the Xbox Series X. “In December 2019, we were contacted by someone who claimed to have test files related to a subset of our current and future graphics products, some of which were recently posted online, but have since been taken down,” AMD spokesperson said in a statement.

Intel Says Its Processors’ iGPUs Can Boost Discrete Graphics (AMD/NVIDIA) Performance Thanks to DirectX 12edit

In their recent GDC presentation, Intel claimed that its iGPUs present in its processors can accelerate gaming performance in discrete graphics cards. This is all thanks to the updated DirectX 12 API. According to the presentation, the DX12 API can now individually recognize the iGPU in the presence of a discrete graphics card. Using the Multi-Adapter Support found in the API, the integrated graphics core can be used to boost the dGPUs performance, by offloading certain functions directly onto the integrated processor.

NVIDIA expands free 90-day virtual GPU software evaluation to 500 licensesedit

With many companies needing to support remote working employees, NVIDIA has expanded its free 90-day virtual GPU software evaluation from 128 to 500 licenses. With vGPU software licenses, companies can use their on-premises NVIDIA GPUs to provide accelerated virtual infrastructure so people can work and collaborate from anywhere, NVIDIA said in a blog post. Further, companies can also temporarily re-purpose NVIDIA GPUs being used on other projects to support their remote workers.

The conference will be held at 7pm CST Asia as stated in the Weibo post. Interestingly, Intel will also be launching its rumoured 10th-gen Comet Lake-H CPUs on the same date, according to previous reports.

Intel is working on a way to reduce the power-hunger of Google Chrome and other browsers. Chrome is infamous for chugging memory and power like a piece of cake. The memory issue is likely to persist for the foreseeable future, but Intel has plans that could turn the browser into more of a power sipper. In a discussion with an Intel engineer on the Chromium bug-tracking website, it was suggested that Chrome could make use of processor’s RGB10 overlay support when outputting HDR content to help reduce power consumption.
