AMD’s Ryzen 4000 mobile processors are some of the most cutting edge chips we’ve seen in the notebook space. However, OEMs are (for reasons unknown) pairing the APUs with GPUs that make little to no sense. This is something I’ve covered before as well. Today, we have a 3DMark benchmark (shared by _rogame), that once again highlights the issue. Here, we’ve got a Ryzen 7 4700U laptop with Vega 7 graphics, paired with an NVIDIA MX250 dGPU. The latter is just over 10% faster than the integrated GPU available on the APU:

Asus to launch new laptops in India to cater to work-from-home demandedit

Asus to launch new laptops in India to cater to work-from-home demandedit

Since the lockdown was implemented in India on 25 March, work from home has been the sole option for employees. Asus India is planning to tap in to this surge in demand by launching new laptops in India once the lockdown is lifted. According to a top company executive in an interview to IANS, Asus is preparing a couple of launches in June this year. On Monday, the government will be allowing few districts in the country to start selling non-essential items that also includes laptops and smartphones.

ASUS aims to resume new PC launches in India from Juneedit

Despite the disruptions owing to the COVID-19 pandemic on global supply chain, Taiwanese electronics major ASUS expects a surge in demand for laptops in India once the lockdown is lifted, even as the company prepares for a couple of launches in June this year, a top company executive has said. Due to the nation-wide lockdown that started on March 25, IT hardware production distribution had largely remained shut in India, impacting sales revenue in April.
