As Moore’s law dies a slow and painful death, chip foundries are scrambling to design the densest and most efficient process nodes. Among them, TSMC is undoubtedly at the top of the food chain. The firm’s 7nm process present powers the fastest PC and mobile chips from AMD, Apple and Huawei, with 5nm presently in mass production.  While Intel struggles to mass-produce its 10nm chips, TSMC is currently finalizing its future nodes, namely the 3nm and 2nm designs. According to Taiwanese media, TSMC has had a major breakthrough in the development of the 2nm process utilizing the GAA (gate-all-around) technology.

AMD’s latest Adrenaline Graphics driver (the latest beta mind-you), boosts performance in Death Stranding by as much as 8% in newer Navi based GPUs. Other than that, it also improves performance in F1 2020 by up to 5%. The former was tested using the in-game high graphics preset while the former at ultra-high. Other than that, it also delivers a slew of fixes including crashes while running Hyper Scape on Windows 7. The newly launched bug tool has been improved and crashes while using the Oculus Rift VR headset have also been fixed.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Educate, in a new initiative, will be providing a curriculum to seven universities in India for cloud computing in their mainstream college syllabus. The aim is to help the next generation of cloud computing professionals. According to a press note released by the company, the offered course will be a part of an undergraduate degree and postgraduate diploma programs which will start this year in September. It is to note that AWS Educate is Amazon’s global initiative that helps provide students comprehensive resources in order to build skills required for the cloud.

NVIDIA’S flagship consumer graphics card, the RTX 2080 Ti seems to be not good enough to run the upcoming Watch Dogs Legion at a steady 60 FPS with Ray Tracing activated, even at 1080p. This is quite a bummer considering the GPU, which costs a whopping $1400 USD, is specifically meant for high-end 4K gaming. The report comes from Digital Foundry’s testing of the upcoming title from Ubisoft on a machine equipped with an RTX 2080 Ti. They claim that the demo they tested was capped at 1080p and 30 FPS by Ubisoft.

Researchers at Check Point, a cyber security firm, had identified a security flaw in Windows DNS, services provided by Microsoft for every Windows operating system, which could have allowed hackers to gain domain administrator rights over servers and take control over an organisation’s IT infrastructure. Microsoft has acknowledged the flaw and released a patch to fix it. The critical vulnerability named SigRed by Check Point has been in Microsoft’s code for more than 17 years, claimed researchers.
