XFX Reportedly Selling Radeon GPUs Directly to Miners in Chinaedit

As per a report from MyDrivers, XFX has been selling Radeon graphics cards directly to miners in China, bypassing most retailers in the process. The parts being sold to crypto-miners include the older Polaris GPUs such as the RX 580 and 590 as well as the newer Navi-based RX 5600 XT and 5700 XT.  As a result of this, AMD’s graphics cards are out of stock at most stores, with retailers unsure about future inventory. Apparently, XFX received these chips from AMD and directly sold them to the miners, branding them as “mining cards”.

AMD to Report Fiscal Third Quarter 2020 Financial Resultsedit

AMD announced today that it will report third quarter 2020 financial results on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 after the close of market. Management will conduct a conference call to discuss these results at 5:00 p.m. ET / 2:00 p.m. PT. Interested parties are invited to listen to the webcast of the conference call via AMD’s Investor Relations website ir.amd.com. Chip giant Intel on Thursday said that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is essential to the future of work in the post-pandemic world, with over 90 per cent respondents in a survey considering AI to be essential or highly relevant to their businesses in India. More than 40 per cent of small and micro revenue firms are using AI for decision support while in medium sized firms, nearly 50 per cent rely entirely on human decision-making as they still do not use AI, revealed the report by Intel India based on two surveys in the country.

The team also surveyed 301 firms in India that have adopted AI/ML in their workflows. Over 90% of the respondents said AI is essential or highly relevant to their business. Nivruti Rai, country head of Intel India, said multiple studies have noted that GDPs of economies would go up significantly with the application of AI.
