Intel agreed to sell its Nand memory unit to South Korea’s SK Hynix for about $9 billion, part of a broader effort by the US chipmaker to concentrate on its main business.

A few weeks ago, we saw dell unveiling it’s upgraded XPS 13. The new XPS 13 would come with Intel’s latest Tiger Lake processor. We are yet to see how exactly the new machine fares up against its other competitors. But according to sources, the review website Phoronix has had its run with the upgraded device from Dell. Phoronix mostly reviews devices in a Linux environment to vary from Windows 10 powered device. According to sources, Phoronix has reviewed the notebook powered by the Core i7-1165G7 edition.

The chipset is based on 14nm architecture and offers 8MB of L3 cache and 45W TDP. On Geekbench 5, the Dell G5 15 5500 posted 1125 points on single-core and 4180 points on multi-core CPU performance. The single-core performance of this laptop is similar to some of the laptops that are based on the Intel Core i7-10750H. However, it takes a hit when it comes to multi-core performance.

Intel has agreed to a USD 9 billion deal to sell most of its memory business to South Koreas SK Hynix as it moves toward more diverse technologies while shedding a major Chinese factory at a time of deepening trade friction between Washington and Beijing. Intel said it will keep its Optane business of more advanced memory products, which analysts say are mostly produced in the United States.

Intel Corp. has stumbled lately. To right itself, the semiconductor giant needs to get back to basics and prioritize its main business. An exit from the memory industry will help that effort. The company agreed to sell its Nand memory-chip subsidiary to South Korea’s SK Hynix Inc. for about $9 billion, the Asian chipmaker said in a statement late Monday New York time. Despite large investments in flash memory, Intel has never been able to become a big player in these types of semiconductors, which are used in storage devices inside computer hard drives and consumer electronics.

It looks like the supply for NVIDIA’s RTX 30 series cards won’t be improving anytime soon. The RTX 3070 which is slated to launch on the 28th of October will likely see limited availability this year. As per the Danish retailer, Pro shop, it still has only 106 units of the 3070 in its warehouse, the same as the figure reported 12 days earlier.

SilverStone’s latest PSU GPU support list includes a bunch of unannounced NVIDIA graphics cards, including the RTX 3070 Ti and the RTX 3080 Ti. It’s unclear whether this is a typo or simply a guess on SS’s part, but we’ll just have to wait and see The RTX 3080 Ti won’t be launching anytime soon, and when it does it won’t be based on the same GA102 die as the RTX 3080 and 3090. We’re likely going to see a larger die, with the full-fledged chip representing a new Titan and a cut-down variant forming the RTX 3080 Ti.
