Intel has launched its new third-generation Xeon Scalable Processor with built-in AI. Intel launched its 3rd Gen Xeon scalable processors, codenamed Ice Lake-SP the other day. This marks the launch of the first 10nm volume lineup from the company. Keep in mind that, unlike Tiger Lake, these CPUs are based on the older Sunny Cove design on the 10nm+ node rather than the SuperFin design. Regardless, the company revealed that it has already shipped over 200,000 units of the Xeon Ice Lake-SP to key clients even before release. These are Intel’s primary customers that contribute to the lion’s share of its revenue, and likely paid a special price for their parts.

If you have been paying attention to the PC market, you’ll know that Intel’s 11th Gen lineup, most notably the Core i7-11700K are now selling for lower than their MSRP, just a week after they were officially launched. The 11700K is going for $404.99 on Newegg, nearly $50 less than the competing AMD Ryzen 7 5800X which makes sense considering that the latter is faster in just about everything. However, the Rocket Lake offerings do pretty well in gaming workloads, more or less leveling with the Ryzen competition.

NVIDIA launched the GeForce GTX 1650 Super to address the shortcomings of the vanilla 1650. The Super was faster than both the RX 570 as well as the GTX 1060. AMD’s answer was the Radeon RX 5500 XT. Initially, the 8GB variant was priced the same as the GeForce GTX 1660, making it a hard pass, while the 4GB model costed the same as the GTX 1650 Super. Recently, however, AMD has started phasing out the latter in favor of the former with reduced pricing. Now, you can snag the Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB for as low as $179, the same as the GTX 1650 Super which is limited to half as much memory.
