AMD Radeon Graphics Coming to New Samsung Flagship Exynos SoC, Next-Gen Tesla Cars: Computex 2021 (PROACTIVE)edit
In addition to lots of news about upcoming products at its virtual Computex 2021 keynote, AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su also confirmed two rumours that have been circulating for a while regarding partnerships with Samsung and Tesla. AMD’s RDNA 2 graphics architecture will be used in the next flagship Exynos SoC from Samsung, and its Ryzen APUs as well as Radeon GPUs will power the infotainment systems of the next Tesla Model S and Model X revisions. No in-depth details of either of these partnerships were disclosed, as the respective companies will make their own product announcements soon.

AMD has taken the wraps off the long-awaited Radeon RX 6000M series “mobile” GPUs. Formally announced at Computex 2021, the Radeon RX 6000M series is AMD’s answer to Nvidia’s RTX 3000 series GPUs. The big new update here is that they bring AMD’s next-gen RDNA 2 desktop architecture to laptops. Kicking of the proceedings are three chips: the RX 6800M, RX 6700M, and the RX 6600M. AMD said it will also collaborate with its global PC partners to deliver laptops “designed, optimised and purpose-built for the best possible gaming experiences” under the AMD Advantage Design Framework initiative that is making its debut alongside its Radeon RX 6000M series laptop GPUs.

AMD Pulls an Intel w/ its Radeon RX 6000 Mobile Benchmark Comparisons (PROACTIVE)edit
AMD took a leaf from Intel’s playbook with its Radeon RX 6000 mobile benchmark comparisons. Turns out that the company compared its Radeon RX 6800M that has a TGP of 150W (+15W dynamic) against a GeForce RTX 3080 laptop wherein the latter has a base TGP of 115W, with an additional 15W upon boosting. Similarly, the Radeon RX 6600M with a TGP of 100W was compared with an RTX 3060 with a base TGP of 90W and a dynamic boost draw of 95W.

HP Elite and Pro desktop PCs have been announced at Computex 2021. The lineup includes HP EliteDesk 805 G8 series PCs and HP ProDesk 405 G8 series PCs. Intel has tied up with IIIT Hyderabad for an applied AI research institute to focus on developing tools to reduce accidents on Indian roads. The technology, advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), is the same as that being used in driverless cars, and pilots show that the technology can reduce accidents by 30-60%. Partnerships, Ramisetty says, should also focus on teaching, joint development of courses, and intellectual property (IP). “In specific developments, they should co-own and comonetise the IP,” he says.
