AMD CPU/GPU Average Selling Prices Rise as Company Reports Revenue Increase of 99% YoYedit
AMD just announced its Q2 earnings with a staggering gain of 99% compared to the same quarter last year. The quarterly revenue came in at $3.85 billion, up from $1.93 billion in Q2 2020 and $3.44 billion in Q1 2021. The gross profit was up 116%, reaching $1.83 billion, compared to just $850 million in Q2 2020, and $1.58 billion in Q1 2021. Finally, as expected, the gross margin grew to 48%, compared to 44% in the same quarter last year and 46% in the last quarter.

Good reputation of the employer was equally important for both male and female respondents (59%), along with financial health of the organization (59% female and 60% male respondents). A higher percentage of female respondents (54%) chose the possibility of remote working as a major driver, compared to men (49%).

Others in the top 10 most attractive employer brands in India for 2021 include Infosys Technologies at fourth place, Tata Steel (5th), Dell Technologies Ltd (6th), IBM (7th), Tata Consultancy Services (8th), Wipro (9th), and Sony (10th). Moreover, the survey findings this year reflect a shift in employee sentiments, where work-life balance has taken center stage, making it as important as financial compensation while selecting an employer. The research captures the views of over 1,90,000 respondents (general public, aged 18-65) on 6,493 companies in 34 countries. It provides insights into the perceptions and drivers of choice of potential employees.

Global chip shortage: When will India have its own semiconductor plant?edit
Tata Motors recently cut the sales forecast of its luxury car brand, JLR, due to chip shortages, scaling down its production numbers from the earlier 120,000 units to 60,000-65,000 units by September, and leading to an almost 10 per cent fall in the company’s stock. In May this year, Bosch India, too, had stated that chip shortfalls would impact its production, as supply chains were getting disrupted.
