Intel Alder Lake-S Pre-Orders to Go Live on 27th October, Reviews on 4th November, Up to 100 Z690 Motherboards Plannededit
Intel will be announcing its next-gen Alder Lake processors for desktop computers during an online event from 27th to 28th of October. Pre-orders for the K and KF series SKUs will go live the same day (October 27th at 09:00 am PT), followed by the review/sales embargo on the 4th of November at 06:00 am PT. The budget non-K SKUs will be launched during CES 2022, or around the same date (Jan 2022).

Microsoft May Design In-House Arm Silicon (Like Apple) for Surface, Ditching Inteledit
Microsoft may follow Apple’s example and design its own custom in-house silicon, rather than relying on Intel for providing chips for its Surface notebooks. A recent job listing from the software giant shows that Microsoft is on the hunt for a “Director of SoC Architecture“, a full-time position within its Surface division. This doesn’t necessarily indicate that MS is planning on designing its own in-house Arm silicon. AMD offers customized versions of its mainstream processors for the Surface notebooks. Chances are that this position is meant for that very purpose.
