Intel is gearing up to launch its server and HEDT processors later this year based on the potent Golden Cove core architecture. The 4th Gen Xeon Scalable lineup, codenamed Sapphire Rapids-SP will be the first chiplet (MCM or tiled, call it what you want) based design featuring up to 56 cores across four 15 core tiles. Each die will have one core fused off to improve yields.

The $66 billion deal between Softbank and Nvidia for the latter to acquire semiconductor design company Arm Ltd from the Japanese investment major has been called off after backlash from various competition authorities, including in the US, Europe and the UK. PC brand, Acer, today announced the launch of its second laptop under the ‘Make-in-India’ scheme, Aspire 3. The laptop is being manufactured at the company’s manufacturing facility in Noida. This is the company’s second laptop under the scheme, following the TravelMate series laptops. Acer said that the Aspire 3 has leveraged the production-linked incentive (PLI) announced by the Government of India.
