AMD EPYC Processors Help Chinese Electric Vehicle Maker NIO Accelerate Product Developmentedit

AMD China, the Chinese division of AMD, has announced a cooperation agreement with Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer NIO. According to a video published by AMD, the automaker will use 3rd generation AMD EPYC processors (Milan) to speed up deep learning, as a result, shortening the product development cycle.

Given its ultra-low-power budget and mediocre specifications, this is an astounding result.

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) enters partnership with NIO to supply Chipsedit

Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD) and NIO (NYSE: NIO) have formed a collaboration to sell chips to NIO, the Chinese electric automobile manufacturer. In a video shared on Weibo, AMD announced that in its HPC (high-performance computing) platform, NIO would employ AMD’s EPYC series of processors. This will fasten the AI deep learning training and cut down product development cycles. AMD CPUs will only be employed to develop NIO’s vehicles, not in vehicles for production.
