North Delhi consumers will be the first in India who will be able to use solar power during the night. Two private companies on Tuesday began construction of India’s first utility-scale energy storage system of 10 MW. It will be ready by the end of 2018. The system is being deployed in Rohini at a substation operated by Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd. The system will enable better peak load management, add system flexibility and enhance reliability for more than 7 million customers in the Delhi region.
