Innovant Launches Project IMPACT in Delhiedit

Innovant, with the support of The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Future of Mobility and Transport Panel and Aeris, launched the Phase 1 of Project IMPACT (Innovative Mobility for People Advancement through Communications and Technology), at the IEI Centre, New Delhi. IIT BHU is the Incubation Partner and Saraswati Seva Foundation is the Social Impact partner for the project.

In a major boost to the brand value of KIIT globally, B.Tech programmes have got the coveted Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), UK accreditation. Despite being relatively young (20 years as an institute and 14 years as a university), KIIT has secured 250th position in the QS BRICS World University Rankings for 2018. It is the first self-financing Deemed to be University in Odisha and eastern India to enter into this prestigious ranking.

India’s dependence on imported components for electric vehicles could make the country vulnerable to cyber-security breaches, according to the government’s chief policy think-tank. India should manufacture the majority of the parts needed for its electric vehicle fleet as equipment shipped from overseas could be compromised, V.K. Saraswat, a member of the think tank, Niti Aayog, said in an interview. All of the software and at least 55% of the components need to be made domestically to keep electric vehicles and the grid secure.

E-mobility: Government may restructure 2 apex bodies for better inter-ministerial interface edit

With an aim to propel the Centre’s e-mobility initiatives, the government is likely to restructure two apex bodies — the National Council for Electric Mobility and the National Board for Electric Mobility  to ensure better inter-ministerial coordination.  The restructuring proposal was mooted by government think tank Niti Aayog for “providing a leadership and inter-ministerial coordination” and a Cabinet note is being drafted to formalise the suggestion, officials told PTI.

The Fall in wind power tariffs seems to have bottomed out, inching up to Rs 2.44 per unit in the latest auction for 2,000- MW capacities. The auction was conducted by the Solar Energy Corporation (SECI) last Tuesday. Sources said as many as six firms, including Torrent Power, InoxWind Infrastructure Services, Green Infra Wind Energy, and ReNew Power emerged as the lowest bidders for 2,000-MW wind capacities.
