Can digital literacy promote women empowerment? Answer lies hereedit
Today, being literate is not just limited to being able to read and write any language; it is much more than that. Digital Literacy is becoming as important as traditional literacy. As per the census of 2011, an effective literacy rate for men in India was 82.14%, while for women it was 65.46%. The good news is that this gap is narrowing. However, as per UNICEF’s “The State of the World’s Children 2017 – Children in a Digital World” report, only 29% of all internet users in India are females.
