EESL to invest Rs 2,400 crore to buy 20,000 EVs by March 2019 edit
State-run Energy Efficiency Services (EESL) plans to invest around Rs 2,400 crore to procure 20,000 electric vehicles for government use by March next year, a senior company official said. The company is also likely to sign memorandum of understandings (MoUs) with the governments of Maharashtra and Gujarat this month to supply 1,000 and 8,000 electric vehicles, respectively.

Tamil Nadu fixes solar tariff at Rs 3.11 per Mwedit
Tamil Na du has fixed a new solar tariff at Rs 3.11 per Mw for solar photo voltaic projects. This is above Karnataka’s tariff of Rs 2.79 per Mw, but below that of Maharashtra and Raj as than. For 2017-18, the state has fixed a tariff of Rs 4.50 per unit without accelerated depreciation and Rs 4.41 per unit with accelerated depreciation. Tamil Na du has an installed capacity of 1,865 Mw of solar power, which is inclusive of solar roof top generation through net metering.
