IEEE summer school on computational intelligence opensedit

A six- day summer school on Computational Intelligence was inaugurated at Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology in collaboration with IEEE Hyderabad Section on Thursday. The summer school has over 10 international speakers from US, Singapore, Australia, Italy, Slovenia, Japan and Austria. The participants comprised of about 50 faculty and researchers involved in the field of Artificial Intelligence from all parts of India. This programme is financially sponsored by IEEE CIS and GRSS society Headquartered at San Jose, USA with MJCET being the Venue Partner.

While digitisation and automation has helped small and medium businesses (SMBs) to a great extent, three in 10 SMBs still use old-generation personal computers (PCs) putting them at increased cyber risks and massive productivity loss, a joint Microsoft and Intel study said on Thursday. According to the research by SMB and mid-market research firm Techaisle commissioned by Microsoft and Intel, PCs which are older than four years significantly increases maintenance costs of up to $1,279 (over Rs 90,000) per device — enough to replace the ageing hardware with three or more new PCs.

Hiring intent in 2019 is expected to be strongest after a gap of four years on the back of bullish employment opportunities in IT, automotive, travel and hospitality sectors, a report said Thursday. According to India Skills Report, almost 64 per cent employers have a positive outlook on hiring, 20 per cent said they will hire the same number of people as 2018 and only handful have a negative outlook for 2019.
