Delhi EV policy: Government allocates Rs 100 crore to state electric vehicle fund for 2019-20edit

Moving ahead with implementing its e-vehicle policy, the Delhi government announced Rs 100 crore for a state electric vehicle fund in its 2019-20 budget, presented in the assembly on Tuesday. Presenting the budget, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia proposed an outlay of Rs 1,807 crore for implementation of various schemes, programmes and projects of the transport department in 2019-20.

“This allocation is almost double the revised estimate of 2018-19,” Sisodia, who also holds the finance portfolio, said.He said vehicles contribute to approximately 40 per cent emission of PM 2.5 in Delhi. Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission Proposes EV Charging Tariffedit

To help the electric vehicle (EV) sector grow in Uttar Pradesh, the Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (UPERC) has proposed tariffs for EV charging stations in the state. The proposal is up for comments up to March 6, 2019. The UPERC will hold a public hearing to discuss the matter on March 7, 2019.

UPERC conducted a workshop on “Technosphere of EVs-Charging Infrastructure, power demand estimation, and pricing issues.” It was proposed that a new category by the name ‘EV Charging’ will be created in the rate schedule.

Cabinet set to clear Rs 10,000 crore EV schemeedit

The much-awaited faster adoption and manufacturing of (hybrid) electric vehicles (FAME) II scheme may be soon a reality, as the Union Cabinet is likely to clear a Rs 10,000-crore plan on this respect Thursday.

According to a top official source, the much-delayed FAME-II will be for a period of three years instead of five years as envisaged earlier, and for passenger electric cars, the subsidy will be available only for taxi aggregators. “The Rs 10,000-crore support will be used for subsidies on electric busses, passenger cars to be used by taxi aggregators, three-wheelers and two-wheelers,” the source said.
