DRDO chairman G Satheesh Reddy conferred top US award for contribution to missile technology developmentedit

Defence Research and Development Organisation chairman G. Satheesh Reddy has been conferred the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics award for his contribution to the field of missile technology development.

Dr Reddy also serves as the Secretary, Department of Defence Research and Development, Director General of Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA). He was also appointed as Scientific Adviser to Defence Minister in May 2015.

IET on Campus, BIT Mesra organised its much anticipated Web Development workshop from 20th to 25th February, 2019. The workshop, which spanned over a period of six days, was hosted for the upcoming and budding developers to make them ready to take on the world with their newfound expertise.

Day 1 commenced at 5:45 P.M. in two different rooms. The basic concepts were taught in Room 237 while the advanced ones in Room 236. India has the capacity, talent and the opportunity to become the leader in IoT, said Ajay Prakash Sawhney, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India. While speaking at a conference, Sawhney asserted that IoT is not only a set of technology, it is a profusion of technologies which are all interconnected.

He said that there is a sudden surge in the number of data centres and they are valuable enough to be analysed and acted upon. It is this need of Data Analytics that puts India ahead globally because India is continuously innovating in this field.

At the recently-concluded Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, mobile phone makers counted on 5G to ignite growth. Last year, smartphone sales fell for the first time in the US since Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone in 2007. With people holding on to their devices longer, smartphone demand is taking a hit even though more than five billion people worldwide now subscribe to a mobile phone plan, according to GSMA, the industry trade group.
