IKEA’S DIY model will come under pressure especially when other furniture retailer such as Home Town, Urban Ladder and Pepperfry offer assembly services at home. IKEA is trying to find a way around this challenge. It has tied up with home services provider Urban Clap through which it will connect buyers with assemblers. It has even formed an in-store team for assembling furniture.
