Little Black Book, The Better India, ScoopWhoop, and POPxo have more than one thing in common – yes, they are digital media platforms, but there are now trying to serve up more than just content. They all not only want you to read, but also buy! The concept of content commerce, as it is called, is not new. Why Targeting Niche Audiences Is Key To E-Commerce Successedit

Sizable and diverse audiences are the mediums of choice for many successful marketing agencies, brands, and e-commerce businesses. However, explicitly targeting niche audiences can be a prudent and profitable business strategy too. Niche content caters to a particular topic or interest and doesn’t worry about attracting folks who aren’t interested in that subject matter. India will be a test laboratory for Ikea worldwide: CEO Jesper Brodinedit

One of the lessons that Jesper Brodin, president and chief executive officer of Ikea group, remembers from his time spent as assistant to the Swedish company’s founder Ingvar Kamprad was his philosophy of siding with the people. This idea translates into principles of functionality, affordability and quality that underlie every Ikea product. In his 24 years at Ikea, Brodin has worked across business categories, starting with his role as a purchase manager in Pakistan. Of late, Brodin’s thrust has been to catapult Ikea into the digital age and catch up with the e-commerce boom. The brand’s foray into India has largely been about taking risks and creating new experimental models around the world.
