AMD plans to increase India headcount by 25% this year (PROACTIVE)edit

American chip maker AMD has said that it will increase its India headcount by over 25% this year as the company deepens its global research and engineering work in the country including strengthening work with notebook and desktop makers. AMD, which competes with bigger rival Intel globally, has been looking to gain traction in India as the market for notebooks and desktops expands, especially in areas such as gaming and premium categories.

Taiwanese tech major Asus in partnership with chip maker AMD, has rolled out a slew of computing devices in the Indian market aimed at consumer segments including gamers. “PC market de-grew but Asus has recorded a growth of 60 per cent.” AMD India Managing Director, Sales, Vinay Sinha also pointed that the fastest growing segments within the consumer segment are ultrathin and gaming.

Red Dead Redemption 2 PC Performance Optimization Guide: AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT beats the NVIDIA RTX 2080 Super (PROACTIVE)edit

Rockstar’s hit title, Red Dead Redemption 2 has finally come to PC, but there’s a catch. The game doesn’t run all that well. The graphics options include up to 40 settings but only a couple of them seem to have any actual impact on the in-game performance.  AMD cards perform the best at the balanced quality graphics preset. At highest quality, the RTX 2070 Super performs on par with the RX 5700 XT while the 2080 Super manages to edge past it. So, anyone with a Navi card should start with that preset as the baseline and then make changes according to their own preferences

NVIDIA tops AI Inference benchmarks, also announces ‘World’s smallest super computer’ chip for AI tasksedit

Nvidia has topped an independent AI Inference benchmarking test called MLPerf. The test measures AI performance in data-centres and at the edge (on your phone, in robots, etc.) in several categories, all of which Nvidia managed to top. Much like children, AI needs to be taught to do things before it’s allowed into the wild. This is done by first training an AI model in a supercomputer, where it is brought up on a diet of data. The idea is that the AI munches through this data and figures out how to deduce information from it, in other words, the AI learns to infer.
