AMD Ryzen 7 3700X vs Ryzen 9 3900X: Gaming Performance Across 10 Titles, Lows, Clock Scaling and CPU/GPU Power Draw (PROACTIVE)edit

Overall, this may seem like a disappointing result. But let’s back up a bit and analyze the situation. The performance is more or less on par with the Ryzen 7 3700X. But so is the power consumption and temperature. This means that in most games we’re running into a utilization limit. Most titles top out at 8 physical, making the Ryzen 7 3700X the top-end CPU gamers. If fact, in my experience it’s the 3600X is the sweet spot. In most titles, it performs on par or better than both the Core i5-9600X as well as the Ryzen 7 3700X, costing less than both.

Intel Core i9-9900K vs AMD Ryzen 9 3900X: Which is the Fastest Consumer CPU? (PROACTIVE)edit

Overall, the Ryzen 9 3900X is the clear winner. Offering 90% of the gaming performance as the 9900K and being more than 50% faster in everything else, that’s not a hard conclusion. However, which chip you should opt for largely depends on your workloads. If you are building a gaming PC that will be mostly used for high frame-rate gaming, then the Core i9 is a no-brainer.

Testing Eco Mode on the AMD Ryzen 3000 CPUs: 95% Performance for 70% Power (PROACTIVE)edit

AMD’s Ryzen 3000 chips are not only the most powerful CPUs on the block, but they’re also the most efficient. Where the Intel Core i9-9900K draws as much as 250W under heavy load, the Ryzen 9 3900X usually doesn’t cross the 130W mark despite having a higher core count. This is thanks to TSMC’s cutting edge 7nm node which happens to be twice as efficient compared to Intel’s 14nm based Coffee Lake chips.

AMD in 2019: Big things in small packagesedit

At the beginning of 2019, AMD had a lot to respond to. Nvidia was still the king of the graphics hill with its RTX 20-series, and Intel similarly had the CPU space covered with many of the best processors thanks to powerful single-core performance. But, this has been a year for change, and AMD embraced that. AMD launched a slew of new products this year, and shook up the market in a way we haven’t seen in a long while. It’s now coming out on top in a number of hardware matchups against its rivals, and is showing serious momentum that could make 2020 an even more impressive year.

AMD Zen 4 Will Leverage TSMC’s 5nm Node with a Higher Core Count: Reportedit

AMD’s Ryzen 3000 lineup has been the most successful CPU product stack of this decade. The 3rd Gen Ryzen chips beat rival Intel parts costing almost twice as much at times. All this was made possible thanks to the efficiency of the 7nm node and the IPC gains that came with the Zen 2 architecture. And of course, the chiplet design made the high core counts possible which otherwise would have costed a lot more. The red team hasn’t been sitting idle these days either. The next-gen Zen 3 design (7nm+) has already been taped while the Zen 4 design is being worked upon. We have two key bits of info today regarding the upcoming CPUs from AMD.

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X vs Intel Core i7-9700K: Which is the Best Gaming CPU?edit

Intel’s Core i9-9900K may be the fastest CPU for gaming, but for most of us, it comes down to the Core i7-9700K or the Ryzen 7 3700X. The 9900K is just a tad bit faster than the 9700K while costing a lot more while the 3900X is just overkill for gaming. Very few games use more than 8-cores and SMT/HT isn’t utilized for most. Looking at the specs, the Ryzen 7 3700X has the thread advantage while the 9700K has a higher boost clock. The former also has a higher cache size which helps make up for the latency drop induced by the Infinity Fabric.

I know a lot of people who were able to get a GeForce GTX 1650 powered gaming laptop for a very reasonable price. Paired with the Ryzen 5 3550H, they make for some extremely affordable devices. However, AMD has gone punched a hole in the entry-level Turing card. According to NotebookCheck, the new Radeon RX 5300M beats both the Max-Q version of the 1650 as well as the standard. I wouldn’t look at the overall Firestrike score as it comprises the CPU PhysX performance too, but the graphics score should give a decent indication of the real-world position of the RX 5300M.

Can innovation make personal computing more customized than it is today?edit

If millennials can take personal computing for granted today, it is because of 50 years of innovation that has gone into power-packing the central processing unit (CPU) chip. Intel has filed a brief supporting the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and opposing Qualcomm”s appeal of the judgment passed in May against Qualcomm by US District Court, Northern District of California. The court found that “Qualcomm”s licensing practices have strangled competition in the CDMA and premium LTE modem chip markets for years, and harmed rivals, OEMs and end consumers.”

Best Gaming PC Build Under Rs. 60,000: November 2019edit

AMD’s mid-range performance king, the Ryzen 5 3500 based on the 7nm Zen 2 architecture is finally here. With a price lower than the Intel Core i5-9400F, it promises to be the go-to CPU for builders in the sub-60K range. It’s almost the same as the 3600 except drops SMT which isn’t a must for games anyway. Although we haven’t tested it just yet, knowing how potent the other 3rd Gen Ryzen processors are, we’re pretty confident that it’ll give the Intel competitors a run for their money.

Here is what made PCs cool again in 2019edit

While there were some in the PC industry that sort of saw this coming, AMD’s Ryzen 3 desktop CPUs really did throw an ‘epyc’ monkey-wrench into Intel’s machine. While Intel had been struggling with going sub-14nm with their processors, AMD’s third-generation Ryzen processors are fabricated using the 7nm process by TSMC. This allowed AMD to deliver some eye-watering performance across its entire third-gen portfolio. As most enthusiasts interested in a desktop PC would prefer to assemble everything by themselves rather than getting a pre-built PC, we still see slightly diminished sales for this particular segment. But that doesn’t stop brands from bringing the top-notch SKUs to the Indian market. The pre-built machines in small form factors aren’t exactly easy to upgrade. Most of them come with an easy access hatch so you can easily disassemble the machine and perform a little spring cleaning but when you want to upgrade to a better graphics card or add more storage, you will find yourself limited by the lack of interfaces, if not the lack of space.

DIGIT ZERO 1 AWARDS 2019: Best performing convertible laptopedit

For a while in the recent past, it appeared as if no other manufacturer had taken the convertible laptop category more seriously than Lenovo. Eager to merge the traditional laptop with the modern tablet, the popular Chinese electronics company gave birth to the Yoga brand in late 2012. The name went on to represent Lenovo’s convertible laptop range for about seven strong years before Lenovo decided earlier this year, ‘Hmm, our customers aren’t confused enough with these brand names. Shuffle ‘em!’ And so, Lenovo’s newest Yoga, the Yoga S940, cannot in fact do yoga. In other words, it’s not a convertible laptop. Lenovo’s convertible offering for this year then is the IdeaPad C340, which also happens to be our winner.

Acer Nitro 5 AN517 reviewedit

The segment of affordable gaming laptops has expanded a lot over the past few years for casual gamers with not very deep pockets. ASUS has been a pioneer in this field with its FX505GT series of laptops which were packed with specs and came at a compelling price. If you prefer Intel over AMD (in my opinion you should) and don’t care about military-grade certification, then the Nitro 5 is a no brainer. The MSI offers a more portable package but sacrifices on storage by giving only 128GB option. An alternative to the Nitro 5 would be the Nitro 7 with the i7 9th-gen processors which would translate most likely to a 10-15 percent boost in performance with an asking ...

AI has the potential to be as transformative to the world as electricity, by helping us understand the patterns of information around us. But it is not close to living up to the hype.
