Asus Zenbook 14 UM431 review: A performance beast, but size does limit it (PROACTIVE)edit
The new Asus ZenBook 14 is powered by an AMD Ryzen 5 3500U quad-core processor paired with the Radeon Vega 8 GPU. It comes with 8GB of RAM along with a 512GB PCIe NVMe solid-state drive. If you want to get better performance, I recommend that you upgrade the RAM to 16GB by adding an addition 8GB RAM stick. However, for normal tasks, the laptop should work perfectly fine with 8GB of RAM. During everyday usage, the device performed in a similar fashion as I would have expected a Ryzen 5 3000 series laptop to perform. Multi-tasking was a breeze, even on multiple virtual desktops, which usually causes a few laptops to stutter a bit.

AMD today released Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition, its major yearly graphics driver update, keeping up with a tradition it built over the past few years. Each year, before Christmas, AMD releases a new special driver that introduces several new software features that add to the functionality of AMD Radeon graphics cards. Besides a few fundamental under-the-hood changes, AMD’s new Radeon Software Adrenalin brings performance updates spanning several games, and sometimes entirely new software interfaces and settings utilities.

I have been using this software for the last few weeks, and the overall features and options offered by Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition are a lot better than the previous edition.

By now, AMD has made a major driver update something of an annual tradition. Intel Labs has unveiled what is believed to be a first-of-its-kind cryogenic control chip—code-named “Horse Ridge”—that will speed up development of full-stack quantum computing systems. Horse Ridge will enable control of multiple quantum bits (qubits) and set a clear path toward scaling larger systems—a major milestone on the path to quantum practicality. Developed together with Intel’s research collaborators at QuTech, a partnership between TU Delft and TNO (Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research), Horse Ridge is fabricated using Intel’s 22nm FinFET technology.
