Biostar Exec says OEM has Access to AMD’s B550 and Intel’s 400-Series Mobosedit

The next generation of AMD and Intel motherboards are all set to arrive. According to a Biostar executive, Vicky Wang, the OEM manufacturer has access to both AMD’s B550 chipset and Intel’s 400 series chipset. Wang said this during an interview with Brainbox. Sure, newer motherboards (and newer tech in general) is always a good thing. But what’s special about these boards? The B550 is to be the successor to the B450, a price-performance champion. This is a bit of a tough ask, though: AMD’s 5-series boards feature an expensive multi-layer PCB layout to accommodate PCI-e 4.0 wiring.

Arm leads smartphone and tablet GPU market ahead of Qualcommedit

ARM at Hannover Messe event 2019Arm, Qualcomm, Apple, Imagination Technologies and Intel captured the top-five unit share spots in the global smartphone and tablet GPU market in Q2 2019. Arm GPU IP-based smartphone and tablet GPU shipments declined 16 percent in Q2 2019. Arm’s other significant GPU licensee Samsung has partnered with AMD and the partnership could further affect Arm’s GPU position in the smartphone and tablet GPU market in future, Sravan Kundojjala, associate director of Strategy Analytics, said.

Chipmaker Intel says supply remains tight in PC business; shares slipedit

Intel Corp said on Wednesday it has not been able to keep up with the increasing demand for CPUs and said supply remained “extremely tight” in its personal computer business. “Despite our best efforts, we have not yet resolved this challenge,” the chipmaker said here in a letter, in which the company also apologized to its customers and partners for the shipment delays. Shares of the chipmaker were down nearly 1% in after-market trading.

TCS, Qualcomm launch new innovation hub in Hyderabadedit

IT giant Tata Consultancy Services on Wednesday announced that it has launched an innovation hub in Hyderabad with support from Qualcomm Technologies to build domain-specific solutions that leverage AI, IoT and 5G technologies. Google enters gaming with cloud-based streaming service Stadiaedit

Alphabet Inc’s Google on Tuesday launched Stadia, a cloud-based service that allows users to stream games including “Assassin’s Creed Odyssey” and “NBA 2K20” on Chrome web browser. The service will start with a slate of 22 games and stream 4K videos at 60 frames per second, which can also be accessed through Google’s Chromecast and Pixel devices. Google is offering the 4K version as part of its premium service, Stadia Pro, priced at USD 9.99 per month. The free high-definition version is expected to roll out next year.
