AMD’s relentless CPU design and release cadence have been totally overturning the consumer mindset regarding whose CPU manufacturer they should choose to populate their builds, and it shows in the top sellers for numerous retailers. Amazon US, for example, lists only two Intel CPUs in the top ten of its CPU sales, with the 6-core/6-thread Core i5-9600K in fourth position, and the 8-core/16-thread Core i9-9900K in sixth. AMD’s Ryzen 7 2700X is the top seller (not at all strange, considering the ludicrously low Black Friday sale price of $159, with the Ryzen 5 2600 in second place and the Ryzen 5 3600 in third.

We all know that AMD has been killing it in the DIY space lately with the Ryzen CPUs pummelling Intel on all fronts. However, to get a clearer idea of how the two arch-rivals compare in the consumer space, we headed over to check Amazon’s best-sellers. Out of the 10 top-selling CPUs, 8 are from AMD’s 2nd and 3rd Gen Ryzen product stack. The pack is led by the Ryzen 7 2700X which is selling for just $159, down from its launch price of $329. At this price, it’s an absolute steal. It may not be the best CPU for gaming, but it’s a fantastic chip for content creators and everyday work routines.

AMD RX 5500 Custom GPU variants will launch on 12 Decemberedit
AMD launched the RX 5500 line-up in the OEM market in early October. Recent reports suggest that the custom variations of the Navi 14 based graphics card are set to hit the market by the 12th of December. ITHome reports that AMD has internally briefed AIBs regarding the launch of the custom RX 5500 GPUs. The RX 5500 line-up is based on the RDNA microarchitecture, using the 7nm process. In terms of raw specs, the RX 5500XT can deliver up to 5.2 TFLOPS of computing performance at a TBP of 110W. It also includes 8GB of GDDR6 memory, while the non-XT variant comes included with 4GB of memory.
