The New Asus Zenbook Delivers Great Value For Its Sticker Price (PROACTIVE)edit

The ZenBook has long been the lightest laptop in the ASUS range and also among the best lightweight Windows laptops out there. This latest avatar features a slim-bezel NanoEdge display that pushes the screen to body ratio to 86%. It’s also more compact than its predecessor (the UX 430). The ZenBook 14 also wears the AMD Ryzen badge. The new generation AMD RyzenTM 5 processor with 8GB DDR4 RAM running at 2400MHz keeps this laptop chugging along.  The latest AMD Ryzen 5 processor also packs the powerful AMD RadeonTM RX Vega 8 graphics processor.

Intel claims that i3-9350K is faster than the entire Ryzen 5 lineup in fresh PR slipupedit

Dogged by controversy after controversy, Intel’s Asia Pacific marketing division recently slipped up again. WCCFTech reports that, during a Chinese presentation, Intel claimed that the six-core i5-9600KF is faster than AMD’s 8-core, 16-thread Ryzen 7 3800X. They then went on to compare the quad-core i3-9100F with the 6-core 3500X. This wasn’t the most controsversial slide in the presentation though. On one particular slide, they claimed that the i3 9350K was faster than the entire Ryzen 5 3xxx product stack at gaming, office work, content creation, and other uses.

China to lead the world in 5G scale: Qualcomm presidentedit

China will lead the world in the 5G scale and Qualcomm expects to increase business with China in the 5G transition, Qualcomm President Cristiano Amon has said. ‘China is likely going to have the largest 5G rollout and network,’ Amon said on the sidelines of Qualcomm’s annual Snapdragon Tech Summit held this week in Maui, Hawaii. ‘The scale in China’s deployment plans makes 5G ubiquitous with nationwide coverage as fast as possible.

Intel Makes Chip to Control Quantum Computersedit

Intel on Monday announced a chip that it says will help us control quantum computers. The chipmaker announced a chip called “Horse Ridge” that is designed to take all the work being done by the wires and shrink it down to a chip and electronics about the size of a tea cup saucer.

HP’s anti-fraud programme seizes goods worth ₹80 crore in one yearedit

HP Inc.’s Anti-Counterfeiting and Fraud (ACF) programme has seized counterfeit products worth ₹80 crore in India in the past one year with Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) leading the chart with products worth ₹33.5 crore. The PC major’s ACF programme helps combat production, distribution and sale of counterfeit ink and toner printing supplies, the company said on Monday.

Gaming desktops are a niche market even today. As most enthusiasts interested in a desktop PC would prefer to assemble everything by themselves rather than getting a pre-built PC, we still see slightly diminished sales for this particular segment. But that doesn’t stop brands from bringing the top-notch SKUs to the Indian market. The pre-built machines in small form factors aren’t exactly easy to upgrade. Most of them come with an easy access hatch so you can easily disassemble the machine and perform a little spring cleaning but when you want to upgrade to a better graphics card or add more storage, you will find yourself limited by the lack of interfaces, if not the lack of space.

For a while in the recent past, it appeared as if no other manufacturer had taken the convertible laptop category more seriously than Lenovo. Eager to merge the traditional laptop with the modern tablet, the popular Chinese electronics company gave birth to the Yoga brand in late 2012. The name went on to represent Lenovo’s convertible laptop range for about seven strong years before Lenovo decided earlier this year, ‘Hmm, our customers aren’t confused enough with these brand names. Shuffle ‘em!’ And so, Lenovo’s newest Yoga, the Yoga S940, cannot in fact do yoga. In other words, it’s not a convertible laptop. Lenovo’s convertible offering for this year then is the IdeaPad C340, which also happens to be our winner.
