Wipro will provide commercial engineering services for the Open Network Edge Services Software (OpenNESS) toolkit globally. OpenNESS is a Multi-Access Edge Computing (MEC) software toolkit that was developed by Intel and allows developers to create and deploy applications at the network edge or on-premise edge locations. This open source distribution fosters application innovation, and developer engagement with the ecosystem to create 5G and edge solutions.

In a blogpost on Medium, Intel has inadvertently confirmed the existence of 8 core Tiger Lake-H CPUs. While talking about the new non-inclusive L3 cache, Boyd Phelps, VP of the CCG group explained that each core in Tiger Lake had access to 12MB of LLC for quad-core chips and up to 24MB for 8 core dies. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of octal-core Tiger Lake parts leveraging Intel’s 10nm++ node, but it’s the first time it has been officially mentioned by an Intel executive.

AMD has just shared the first look at its upcoming Radeon RX 6000 series of graphics cards. The new GPU lineup will be powered by the RDNA 2 architecture, which will also be present in the next-gen consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series). Up until now, AMD has only shared few technical details about its upcoming GPU lineup. The only real information we got about it was from dissecting the information revealed about the upcoming consoles. The first look reveal shows a triple-fan design for what is possibly the ‘Big Navi’ card, which is AMD’s next flagship graphics card going against NVIDIA’s RTX 3080 (or possibly 3090).

Softbank, which bought the company for $31 billion in 2016, is smiling all the way to the bank, while the only ones worried could be AMD and Intel.

Nvidia Corp will buy UK-based chip designer Arm from Japan’s SoftBank Group Corp for as much as $40 billion, the companies said on Monday, in a deal set to reshape the global semiconductor sector. The sale puts a vital supplier to Apple and others across the industry under the control of a single player and faces likely pushback from regulators and rivals to Nvidia, the biggest US chip company by market capitalisation.

Nvidia Corp agreed to buy SoftBank Group Corp’s chip division Arm Ltd for $40 billion, taking control of some of the most widely used electronics technology in the semiconductor industry’s largest-ever deal. Nvidia will pay $21.5 billion in stock and $12 billion in cash for the UK-based chip designer, including a $2 billion payment at signing. SoftBank may receive an additional $5 billion in cash or stock if Arm’s performance meets certain targets, the companies said on Sunday in a statement.
