ASUS Zephyrus G14 Review: AC vs Battery Performance (PROACTIVE)edit
Recently, I got to play around with ASUS’ Zephyrus G14 notebook powered by AMD’s Renoir flagship, the Ryzen 9 4900H, and the RTX 2060 Max-Q. Since this is far too late for a standard review, I’ll try to do something different here. We’ll be focusing on the performance and CPU core clock scaling with the AC power and on battery. Furthermore, we’ll be checking out ASUS’ Armoury Crate performance Tuning tool which supposedly boosts performance and reduces power consumption, thereby extending the battery life.

AMD announced the first AMD Ryzen mobile processors and the latest AMD Athlon mobile processors for Chromebook platforms, with up to 178% faster web browsing compared to the previous generation. Designed in collaboration with Google, the AMD Ryzen and Athlon 3000 C-Series Mobile Processor lineup introduces the first-ever “Zen” architecture-powered Chromebooks with systems from Acer, ASUS, HP, and Lenovo launching in Q4 2020. The AMD Ryzen 3000 C Series Mobile Processors offer up to 212% better performance for multitasking and content creation compared to the previous generation of AMD Chromebooks.

AMD Zen 3 “Vermeer” Ryzen 7 5800X Spottededit
AMD all set to launch the new iteration of desktop CPUs based on the latest Zen 3 core, codenamed Vermeer. On October 8th, AMD will hold the presentation and again deliver the latest technological advancements to its desktop platform. The latest generation of CPUs will be branded as a part of 5000 series, bypassing the 4000 series naming scheme which should follow, given that the prior generation was labeled as 3000 series of processors.

Yes, Ryzen 5000 is true and its the upcoming Zen 3 based CPUs launching on October 8th. Finally, a CPU has been spotted on the Ashes of Singularity benchmark paired with an RTX 2080 and 32GB RAM, thanks to @TUM_APISAK. The new Ryzen 7 5800X is an 8 core, 16 threaded CPU, much like its predecessor Ryzen 7 3800X, however, the clock speeds haven’t been disclosed till now.

After a long long wait, a finally have a Ryzen 5000 “Zen 3” Vermeer leak, thanks to the Ashes Escalation benchmark database. The Ryzen 7 5800X was paired with a GeForce RTX 2080 and tested at 4K using the crazy quality preset. The next-gen Ryzen CPU scored 5,800 points with an average CPU frame-rate of 133.6 FPS. Intel’s fastest CPU, the Core i9-10900K, on the other hand, has an average CPU frame rate of 114 FPS. That’s a performance delta of nearly 10%, and it’s despite the fact that the Ryzen 7 5800X is an octa-core CPU while the 10900K is a ten-core part.

Newegg Insider Lists AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT, 6800 XT and 6700 XT Specificationsedit
Shortly after we covered the Reddit leak mentioning the specs of the Navi 21, 22, and 23 GPUs, Newegg Insider has also shared the specifications of the next-gen Navi 2x graphics cards. The cards include the Radeon RX 6900 XT, the 6800 XT, and the 6700 XT. The details include the shader count, GPU core base clock, memory size and standard, bandwidth as well as the TDP. The RX 6900 XT which is supposed to be Big Navi (Navi 21) has been listed with a shader count of 5,120 cores or 80CUs and a base clock of 1,500MHz.

You can easily multi-task with the Asus ExpertBook B9 450F, though I would have loved it to jump to life a little bit faster when you open it up in the morning, like my MacBook does. The device runs Windows 10 Pro and is completely configurable by IT management.

NVIDIA RTX 3080 Crashes Seem to be the Result of Broken GPU Boost 5.0 (and Low-Quality Caps)edit
As per a statement from NVIDIA and multiple board partners, the crashes faced by users of the RTX 30 series graphics cards aren’t due to the use of POSCAP capacitors, but due to unstable drivers and firmware. The below statement is from Gigabyte which claims that the vendor has designed its RTX 3080 and 3090 models in accordance with the specifications provided by NVIDIA. However, this makes you wonder whether NVIDIA gave its partners enough time after sharing the technical details, as it’s a well-known fact that this was a rushed launch.
