The Indian PC market that includes desktops, laptops, and workstations projected a 9.2 percent growth during the July-September 2020 period (Q3 2020), as per the latest data provided by market analyst International Data Corporation (IDC). The data shows that PC shipments in India during the third quarter was also the highest in the last seven years with 3.4 million units, and the boost in shipments is credited to rising demands in e-learning as well as work from home amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the commercial segment, enterprises reduced their dependency on desktops anticipating a longer work from home possibility but SMBs resumed purchases as business operations started with a relaxation in lockdown. “Despite the supply challenges, vendors were able to stock up for the upcoming online festivals. However, the demand for notebook PCs [laptops] remains much higher than the current supply, which is likely to lead to another strong quarter of shipments in October-December,” analysts at IDC said.

Microsoft on Tuesday announced that its next-gen Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X are now available for purchase in India. Xbox Series X’s price in India is set at Rs 49,990, while the Xbox Series S will set you back Rs 34,990. The two next-gen Xbox consoles are available on Flipkart, Amazon and offline retail channels. The Xbox Series X has a Zen 2-based octa-core CPU clocked at a maximum of 3.8GHz paired with 16GB of GRRD6 RAM.

India’s traditional PC market (inclusive of desktops, notebooks, and workstations) grew 9.2% year-on-year in Q3 2020 to reach an all-time high of 3.4 million shipments, led by America’s HP, as per market tracker firm IDC’s latest report. The July-September quarter is the biggest PC quarter in the last seven years in India. Although the commercial segment had very few governments and education projects, the consumer segment logged its biggest quarter to date with 2 million shipments, growing 41.7% year-on-year and 167.2% quarterly.

Here, the Navi flagship levels with the 2080 Super as the bandwidth advantage of the latter comes into the picture. I found that AMD cards perform the best at the balanced quality graphics preset. At highest quality, the 2070 S performs on par with the 5700 XT while the 2080 S manages to edge past it. So, anyone with a Navi card should stick to that preset and then increase those settings that don’t have a notable impact on performance.

Chinese tech giant Huawei is reportedly planning to launch a desktop computer by the end of this year. The upcoming desktop computer from Huawei will be powered by the company’s own Kunpeng 920 chipset, along with a graphics processor from AMD which could be Radeon R7 430, reports GizmoChina.
