AMD Ryzen AI Max PRO 400 Series Brings Local Agentic AI to Business PCsedit

The advent of generative artificial intelligence has raised questions around commercial use cases, adoption, and ROI since the technology entered mainstream discourse in late 2022. As AI agents move towards broad deployment, companies face even greater pressure to answer them. Unlike genAI chatbots, which typically rely on a question-and-answer model, AI agents can carry out complex, multi-step tasks across different applications. When configured to do so, they can also take certain actions autonomously and work on complex projects for extended periods while the person who initiated the task focuses elsewhere.

Nvidia Builds a Security Layer for AI Agentsedit

As enterprises race to deploy autonomous AI agents, Nvidia is pushing security deeper into the AI stack, arguing that agents cannot be trusted to police their own behaviour. Its new Open Agent Safety Platform brings together more than 100 technology, research and public-sector organisations around a layered approach to agent security. AI agents represent a different security challenge from traditional applications. They can reason, execute code, access databases, call APIs, use credentials and communicate with other systems—sometimes operating independently for extended periods. That combination dramatically increases the potential impact of compromised, manipulated or misbehaving agents.

Asus Pad Review: Gorgeous Display, But Does It Deliver Enough?edit

Asus’s re-entry into India’s tablet market after nearly a decade comes with the Asus Pad, priced at Rs. 35,990, and on paper it reads like a genuine steal – a 12.2-inch tandem OLED display, quad speakers with Dolby Atmos, and a 9,000mAh battery, all undercutting most OLED tablets in the country by a significant margin. We’ve spent time with the white variant as our daily tablet for streaming, reading, and casual use, and while the display alone makes a strong case for the Asus Pad, a few rough edges are there that we’d like to highlight.

Chip startup Efficient Computer raises $100 million at $650 million valuationedit

Efficient Computer, a chip startup spun out of Carnegie Mellon University, on Tuesday said it has raised $100 million in additional funding, bringing its valuation to $650 million. Efficient is developing chips with what is known as data flow architectures that can be both faster and 10 to 100 times more energy-efficient than the architectures used by Intel Corp or Nvidia Corp. Data-flow chips have bounced around academic literature for decades without commercial traction, largely because they are difficult for software developers to program for the wide variety of tasks that can be handled by chips from Intel or Nvidia.
