The FPCs registered a total turnover of Rs 167.79 crore on PSS operations, which was inclusive of a one per cent handling fee charged on the MSP paid to farmers.

Chhattisgarh has bagged national ‘Agriculture Leadership Award 2017’. The award was handed over to State Agriculture Minister Brijmohan Agrawal by Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki in New Delhi recently. It may also be recalled that the Chhattisgarh Government has prepared a five-year master plan to provide a fillip to the cultivation of horticulture based crops in the State. The master plan is for the period 2017-18 to 2021-22, officials informed. Horticulture is a sunrise sector in the State. The Horticulture crops cover an acreage of 7.41 lakh hectares and production is about 85.95 lakh metric tonnes, officials informed.

Andhra govt announces Rs 3600 crore debt relief to farmersedit

Amravati: Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy announced Wednesday that the state government will deposit Rs 3600 crores in the farmers` accounts under debt relief scheme in next two to three days. Of the nine lakh farmers, who registered complaints regarding government`s Debt Waiver scheme, 5.47 lakh farmers have been paid an additional amount of Rs 528.37 crores, informed Reddy.

Deere & Co, known for its trademark green tractors, said on Wednesday it would acquire privately-held Blue River Technology for $305 million to increase the machine-learning capabilities of its farm equipment. California-based Blue River has designed technology that helps farmers reduce the use of herbicides by spraying only where weeds are present, optimizing the use of inputs in farming, Deere said in a statement.
