West Bengal govt to build Sufal Bangla Mall to promote organic cropsedit

Bengal’s state agriculture marketing department has decided to build a Sufal Bangla Mall in Rajarhat, close to IT hub of Salt lake to sell crops grown using organic fertilisers..

The hub will be set up on 15 cottahs of land and will cost Rs 16 crore. It would be inaugurated on August 31 with the opening of a Sufal Bangla stall. Gradually other organic crop growers would be allotted space to sell their produce.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi today said the state would get maximum benefits from MNREGA in increasing income of farmers. Mr Modi, while inaugurating a workshop of North East States on coordination between agriculture and MNREGA here, said the scheme was labour oriented and it had provision for farmers to work on land of others.

Farmers won’t be forced to buy particular Agriculture machineedit

Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas on Thursday assured farmers that they would not be forced to buy particular equipment or machineries and would only be provided subsidy once they pick up the machinery which they feel would be beneficial for their kind of farming. Pocharam was speaking at the exhibition of farm machinery at Prof Jayashankar Telangana State Agriculture University (PJTSAU), where farmers from different districts took part.
