The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has directed the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) to implement its air pollution abatement action plan in Noida and Ghaziabad by September 15. Mahindra has been ranked the highest in tractor customer satisfaction with after-sales service experience, according to a survey by JD Power. Mahindra group firm Swaraj was ranked second followed by John Deere. The study based on responses from 3,835 tractor owners across 14 states ranked Mahindra the highest in satisfaction in the after-sales service experience with a score of 831 based on a 1000-point scale. Punjab puts in place multi-crore action plan to tackle stubble burningedit
With regulatory measures having failed to curtail instances of stubble burning, the Punjab government has put a ‘practical action plan’ to deal with the burning of crop residue. The state has drafted a two-year plan under which it would be spending Rs 665 crore on providing straw management machinery at 80% subsidy to the cooperative societies and other groups and at 50% subsidy to individual farmers. During the current year, the government has allocated Rs 270 crore to build up cache straw management equipment with an addition of Rs 15 crore to be spent on awareness campaign through various mediums.
