Subhash Palekar Guru of ZBNF and agriculture scientists are giving advises and suggestions to the farmers who started nature farming. The farmers are feeling that agriculture was viable if the cost of cultivation reduced.

MERC to verify power usage for agricultureedit

State electricity regulator, Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC), has decided to undertake a third-party verification of agricultural sales to get an accurate assessment of agricultural power consumption in the state. It will take at least a year to complete the assessment as the regulator will have to consider sales during different agricultural seasons as the energy requirements may differ, according to MERC member Mukesh Khullar

Senior bureaucrats Sanjay Agarawal and Sanjeev Ranjan have been appointed as Agriculture Secretary and NHAI chief respectively as part of a bureaucratic reshuffle effected Monday. Agarawal, who is at present serving in his cadre state Uttar Pradesh, will be Secretary, Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare on superannuation of S K Pattanayak, on September 30, an order issued by the Personnel Ministry said.

Punjab Governor VP Singh Badnore on Monday called upon the farmers to shun the practice of burning of paddy and wheat straw in order to save the environment and enhance land fertility.After playing a leading role in making the nation food surplus with Green Revolution and ushering the country into White Revolution (with high milk production), Punjab farmers now once again need to become role model for the country by adopting mechanised disposal of stubble, instead of setting it on fire, the Governor said while addressing a gathering of farmers at Kisan Mela in Faridkot on Monday.
