Ryots can now buy mini excavators, water tankers with govt subsidyedit
Two new implements have been added to the list of machinery eligible for subsidy under a scheme promoting mechanisation in agriculture. Farmers will now be able to seek financial assistance for the purchase of mini excavators and tractor-mounted water tankers with trailers. Notified in 2017, the scheme was aimed at promoting mechanisation to overcome shortage and high rates of agricultural labour, to reduce the cost of cultivating crops and to increase net returns to farmers.
