PM-KISAN scheme: Modi govt notifies extension of benefits to all 14.5 crore farmersedit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Central government on Saturday notified a decision to extend the benefit of Rs 6,000 per year under the PM-KISAN scheme to all 14.5 crore farmers in the country, irrespective of the size of their landholding. Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Siddhi will cost over Rs 87,000 crore a year to the exchequer.

Continuing mass farmers contact, Agriculture Department Samba in collaboration with allied Departments and Banks of the area held awareness camp on Saturday at Kamore village of Sector Ramgarh in Samba District. The awareness campaign was launched by the Department of Agriculture at the behest of DDC Samba Sushma Chauhan in which 200 farmers including women participated. District Agriculture Officer Samba presided over the proceedings. The main theme of the campaign was to provide credit linkages to the agriculture sector and to shift outlook of farmers from subsistence farming to entrepreneurship in farming, capital deficit to capital intensive Farming, low-tech to high-tech farming, bullock driven to machinery driven farming.

There won’t be any hire and fire policy for India: Niti V-C Rajiv Kumaredit

NITI Aayog Vice-Chairman Rajiv Kumar on Saturday set the record straight that while labour laws would be reformed, there won’t be any hire and fire policy for India.

Talking about labour reforms, he said, “You will see action very soon. But you have to see action not in terms of hire and fire. You have to have labour reforms where labour gets his due and rightful participation but yet investors get the flexibility to be able to change its composition of labour force. We will take action in the coming Parliament session.” He added that states have huge inventory of land which can be utilised by industry to set up units.
