Distribution of amount under Rythu Bandhu farm investment support scheme continued for the sixth consecutive day in its eighth phase. On Tuesday, authorities deposited Rs 512.26 crore directly into the bank accounts of 1.91 lakh farmers. Till date, around 59.51 lakh farmers received Rs 5,806.35 crore during the ongoing Yasangi (Rabi) season. Deere says its robo-tractors are ready to till the fieldsedit

John Deere & Co said on Tuesday it will start commercial delivery this year of technology that enables a tractor to till a field without an operator in the cab, a first for the top North American tractor manufacturer after years of effort to automate farm work. Deere plans a low-volume launch this year delivering systems for 12 to 20 machines, and then scaling up, Jahmy Hindman, Deere’s chief technology officer, told Reuters. The company is weighing whether to sell the technology, lease it, or offer it to farmers in a subscription package that could allow for upgrades as hardware and software evolve, he said.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES), part of the Mahindra Group, announced its tractor sales numbers for December 2021. Domestic sales in December 2021 were at 16,687 units, as against 21,173 units during December 2020. Total tractor sales (Domestic + Exports) during December 2021 were at 18,269 units, as against 22,417 units for the same period last year. Exports for the month stood at 1,582 units. Telangana procures 65 lakh MT of kharif paddyedit

After weeks of bickering between TRS and BJP over paddy procurement, the Telangana government has finally achieved a record procurement of 65.20 lakh metric tonnes of kharif paddy. The Central government has agreed to purchase 46 lakh metric tonnes of rice, equal to 68.65 lakh metric tonnes of paddy, from Telangana. The state government has decided to procure paddy till the last grain brought by farmers in addition to three lakh-odd metric tonnes paddy procurement that would meet the central government set target of 46 lakh metric tonnes of rice.
