Agritech startup Krishify on Tuesday said it has raised USD 3.5 million from investors to grow its business across the country. In August last year, the company had raised USD 2.7 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by Omidyar Network India, Ankur Capital and Orios Ventures. Sikkim to Launch Modern Technology of Hydroponics, Aquaponics & Rooftop Farming on February 22edit

On February 22, the Sikkim government will open the much-anticipated modern technology of hydroponics, aquaponics, and rooftop farming at Sokeythang, Gangtok. The Minister of Agriculture, Horticulture, and Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Lok Nath Sharma, announced this at a press conference held at the Training Hall of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services. Sharma spoke about the goals and purpose of launching the newly developed agricultural technologies of aquaponics, hydroponics, and rooftop farming during the occasion. He stated that modern technology will increase production even within small private farmlands, resulting in financial advantages for farmers.

Official data show that overall paddy procurement in the country reached 699.48 lakh tonnes (lt) on February 21, up from 658.13 lt a year ago. In terms of rice, the aim for this Kharif season is 528.26 lt (paddy equivalent 788.45 lt). In terms of rice, the current procurement is 469.43 lt. The government has set a goal of procuring 774.85 metric tonnes of paddy from the Kharif crop.
