In a remarkable transformation, the Baramulla district in north Kashmir has emerged as the face of a new white revolution, witnessing a significant surge in dairy production post the abrogation.Today, over 5.5 lakh liters of milk are being produced on a daily basis in district Baramulla, marking a momentous shift from its milk-deficient past. An official at the Animal Husbandry department in Baramulla proudly shared that just four years ago, the district faced scarcity in milk production. However, a determined community has turned the tide, making Baramulla a leading district in the dairy sector.

Miscreants set fire to a dairy farm belonging to Aadhava Trust in Arumuganeri late on Wednesday. The director of the private trust, Balakumaresan, had recently been accused of withholding the salaries of around 3,000 teachers, who were employed by the trust in various government and aided schools since 2019.

Centre lauds Haryana for efforts to reduce stubble burning incidentsedit

The Centre has appreciated efforts made by the Haryana government to bring down the incidents of stubble burning. Incidents of stubble burning in Haryana have reduced by about 48 per cent as a result of making farmers aware not to burn stubble and providing various financial incentives to them, said a Haryana government statement issued here.

Sonalika Tractors recorded an overall sales of 10,683 tractors in July’23 which includes 14% domestic growth and has beaten industry growth (est. 6.4%). The company has also surpassed the 50,000 cumulative tractor sales mark in 4 months of FY’24 (Apr-July’23). Small and marginal farmers constitute around 86% in India, who generally possess small land holdings and limited resource availability as well as awareness of farm mechanization.
